The Detroit Free Press speculates that the Tigers "will listen to offers for" Magglio Ordonez, "but may not move him."
"You don't go out and trade .360 hitters, unless you're overwhelmed," manager Jim Leyland said. "Could something happen? Yeah, I guess it could, but I don't look for that stuff to happen." The Tigers needs catching, shortstop, and pitching help, so parting with Ordonez will likely depend upon how much they can get done by dealing prospects and spare parts. Expect some pretty big changes in Detroit after an incredibly disappointing season.
