Kevin Towers said last month it would be "very, very difficult to trade Jake Peavy" because of the ace pitcher's value to the Padres.
Nonetheless, the general manager is open to trade offers for Peavy, who has guaranteed salaries of $11 million, $15 million, $16 million and $17 million over the next four years.
If the Padres decide to trade Peavy, getting full value might be difficult as well if Peavy is unwilling to approve a trade to the American League.
At season's end, Peavy said he would not accept a trade to the American League.
When asked recently if that is still true, Peavy said he didn't "want to get into any speculation" on trade scenarios.
His agent, Barry Axelrod, acknowledged that the American League isn't Peavy's first choice. "
Jake has a strong preference to stay in the National League," Axelrod said. "It is hypothetical, but Jake, by any measure, has had a great deal of success in the National League.
He has a comfort level with knowing how to approach hitters here." Axelrod made one concrete stipulation to any trade scenarios: "Jake would only approve a trade to a team with a solid chance of winning and a winning tradition.
Those teams in the National League may be in locations that are more acceptable, or would be."
He said "the ability or opportunity to win is very important to Jake, and hopefully some sort of coincidence with his and his family's lifestyle." Among the cities Axelrod mentioned were Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and St. Louis.

그냥 대충대충 직역으로 훝어 본다면..

타워스가 피비는 샌디네 에이스이기에 트레이드가 쉽지 않고.. 매우 어려운 문제라고 지난달에 언급했다라고 나오고 있구요..
앞으로 4년간 각각 1100만달러, 1500만달러, 1600만달러, 1700만달러를 받게 되는 피비에 대한 오퍼는 열려 있다고 합니다..
만약 파드레스가 피비 트레이드를 결정한다고 해도 그가 AL리그로의 트레이드를 받아 들이지 않는다면 최고의 오퍼를 받기가 어렵다네요..
일단 시즌이 끝나고 피비는 알리그로의 트레이드는 받아들이지 않는다고 말했습니다.. 에이전트 역시 그런 입장인듯 하고요..
피비가 NL 리그에서 성공을 거두었으며, NL의 타자들에 대한 접근 방법을 잘 알고 있으며 그곳에서 편안함을 느낀다고 하네요.. 
그런 이유에서 피비는 NL의 전력이 좋은 팀으로 트레이드라면 받아 들이겠다라고 합니다..
그리고 에이전트가 언급한 팀으로는.. 애틀랜타 브레이브스 & 시카고 컵스 & 휴스턴 애스트로스 & LA 다저스 & 세인트루이스 카니널스..
이렇게 5개 팀을 언급했네요.. (가족들도 생각하는 역시나 훈남이군요 ^^)

대에충~~ 급하게 직역으로 대충대충 했지만.. 전체적인 틀은 맞을 겁니다..
아직은 예상하기 힘들겠지만.. 뺄팀을 우선 빼본다면..
다저스같은 경우는 같은 지구에 속해 있기에 힘들어 보입니다..
그리고 휴스턴은 샌디에 오퍼할 매력적인 유망주가 별로 없다는 이야기를 들었네요..
그렇다면 컵스와 애틀과 카즈가 남는데..
피비의 고향인 알라바마와 가까운 애틀이 유력하네요.. 오퍼할 유망주도 있는 편이고.. 흠..
애틀유니폼을 입은 피비라.. 어울리긴 하네요 >_<  애틀역시 에이스급 투수를 구하고 있으니..
어찌 될지는 좀더 지켜봐야겠네요.. 변수는 역시나 구단의 매각 여부 & 피비가 AL로의 트레이드를 승낙할 것인가.. 딱 이정군욤..
