Jeter, Yanks are 'at least' $80 million apart
Bill Madden of the New York Daily News reports that Derek Jeter and the Yankees are "at least $80 million apart" in negotiations.
Yikes. Madden says that Jeter's initial contract request called for six years and $150 million. The Yanks, meanwhile, are sticking to their guns on a generous three-year, $45 million proposal.
